About Billy Trout

Billy Trout serves as the manager of Taxpayer Education, Training, Correspondence, and County Clerk Support for the Tennessee Department of Revenue’s Taxpayer Services Division.

He received a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Prior to joining Revenue in 2003, Billy was the area director for the U.S. Treasury’s Savings Bond Marketing Office and responsible for promoting U.S. Treasury securities throughout the state. He also spent 12 years in management and technical tax law positions with the Internal Revenue Service in Nashville.
